Individual Queen’s Honours

A message from the Lord Lieutenant

“The numbers of individuals who have received an honour in our area are well below the national average and it is clear that we need to do more to promote and encourage nominations for Honours.

We all know that there are deserving individuals who should be nominated but sometimes it requires someone to encourage a nomination. As I am involved in the later stages of this process neither I nor the Lieutenancy are able to make nominations ourselves but I hope that you may be able to see what you can do locally.

There are several different types of honour recognising different levels of contribution and anyone can make an honours nomination. The nominee must still be actively involved in the cause[s] for which they are being nominated.”
