Civica go ‘underwater’ to help the community!

IMG_2842 “When I contacted Eileen at the ‘Volunteer Centre’ I was surprised to see a list of deserving local causes that we could participate in. They ranged from gardening, food/clothes sorting, painting etc. – basically something for everyone. We did a little research and in particular we were touched with the services Pens Meadow Special School provides and wanted to help this cause. The task was ‘arty’ and more than achievable so we jumped at the chance.”

“We chose to paint an ‘under the water’ theme to make the window boards of an unused unit look attractive and ready to engage the children. The school provided the paints and we came in armed with enthusiasm and imagination!  The day gave us a real sense of achievement and insight on what can be accomplished when we work together – in just one day! We are visiting the schools outdoor classroom shortly to help create the outdoor learning space and hope to work with the school again in the future.”

“The ‘donate a day’ scheme is a great idea and really supports employees in reaching out to help a cause which means something to them. It can be anything from helping distribute food at a food bank, to helping a school in the local community. It’s a great sense on achievement and motivates you to do more for those in need”

“We were recently approached by Eileen Fielding from Dudley CVS regarding an exciting opportunity to work with local businesses, to provide an opportunity for a team challenge where staff would come into school to volunteer their time and skills for a day.”

“On Thursday 2nd June we had an amazing team of people from Civica, who kindly came to school and painted the boards in our playground. Their skills and talents have now made the space look a more engaging and fun area for our pupils.”

“We would like to say a huge thank you to Civica for allowing their team to support us and in particular Jenny Tipper, and the team of staff who came and volunteered. Both staff and pupils are very grateful for all your hard work.”

We would also like to say a huge Thank you to Eileen Fielding for her ongoing support and partnership work which has been invaluable.”
