Technical and Quality Supervisor

Temporary position until June 2020 with a view to being made permanent following the outcome of a current business development opportunity

Hours:              30 hours per week (minimum 15 hours per week will be considered)

Salary:             £24,184 – £26,400 dependent on experience

We are looking to recruit a Technical and Quality Supervisor (TQS) to join our existing team of three TQS’s responsible for supporting all our paid staff and volunteers in delivering high quality information and advice to residents across Dudley Borough. The workforce to be supported comprises of Information Hub Facilitators, Contact Centre Assessors, Universal Credit Advisers, Generalist Advisers and Case Workers.

This role is not a management role so people without management experience can apply but candidates will need to demonstrate that they have the skills to ensure that the technical competence and quality of advice delivered by our workforce to clients is to our highest standards.

In addition, they will support the Service delivery managers and Advice services managers in the day to day smooth running of our services.

You will:

  • Have an in-depth knowledge and background in the advice sector
  • Be able to demonstrate the ability to case check generalist/specialist advisor/caseworker files
  • Be able to demonstrate the ability to check client cases to ensure the advice meets the national standards required and is of excellent quality
  • Be able to demonstrate the ability to give feedback to individuals, provide support and motivate staff and volunteers

About the Job:
The Connect Project are looking to recruit a new Cook/ Trainer to join their café connect team. This is no ordinary cook post. You will be assisting The Connect Project to provide and deliver a quality 3 months café work experience opportunity to people between the ages of 16 – 60 who are considered to be the most vulnerable in our society.
The role also requires improving people’s basic life skills and employability skills, including how to cook from scratch: cash handling, savvy shopping and social skills.
This project is designed to support vulnerable people who are currently not in employment, education or training and are in need of mentoring support to build confidence and self-esteem to raise aspirations.

About You:
This exciting opportunity requires a cook that is enthusiastic about cooking and has the passion to support The Connect Project to improve life chances for people in our community.
You will have empathy and understanding of the needs of people and the barriers they face. You like being around and working with people. You can show that you have experience of or the ability of working with people.
You will be committed to the organisation’s ethos and bring enthusiasm and willingness to practical tasks. You can demonstrate an ability to maintain appropriate and professional boundaries with people at all times.
You should have previous experience preparing and cooking food in a busy kitchen. Have experience of training people in catering skills. Provide a professional, efficient and polite customer service at all times. Ensure food and beverages are prepared and served to a high standard. To ensure high levels of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained.
Have basic IT skills, excellent interpersonal skills and understand the importance of working within equal opportunities, safeguarding and confidentiality guidelines.
You are able to communicate on different levels both verbally and in writing. You should have good life skills.

This project is fully funded by the Big Lottery Fund until March 2022. The mission is to achieve a large number of trained over 55’s who have the skills and confidence to support people with their finances and wider economic opportunities in the Black Country. In order to achieve this, we will target over 55’s to become volunteers, particularly retired people who have a huge skills base to draw on, they are ‘Skills Rich’. We will build up a vibrant bank of volunteers across the Black Country concentrating on the metropolitan areas of Dudley and Sandwell. We will work with schools, colleges, voluntary and community groups, statutory agencies and other partners to enable them to host trained volunteers in order to build progression and sustainability for the volunteers. We will also develop a ‘Train the Trainer’ programme with all partner agencies who decide to take on a trained volunteer. This programme, alongside a steering group, will be the basis of sustainability after the project life as partner agencies will be able continue to recruit and train their own bank of volunteers.

The post of Volunteers Coordinator is a crucial one for the project success and we are looking for a skilled and dedicated individual to join our team. As a Volunteers Coordinator, you will deliver and coordinate a programme of recruitment and training for financial confidence volunteers and champions across Sandwell and Dudley, as well as develop organisations and community group’s capacity to offer this service during and post project funding.

You will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience of coordinating volunteering and/or working in a training and development capacity with the voluntary sector and experience of working to train or help people with financial confidence in an advisory capacity.

You will need to be able to travel flexibly and efficiently within the borough of Sandwell and Dudley is required.

Dudley and District CABX are recruiting a temporary business support administrator to work in the business support team at Holloway Chambers in Dudley to cover some temporary time off for one of our permanent business support workers.

This post will be a zero hour contract for approx 20 hours per week for approx. 6 -8 weeks.  Start date to be confirmed – end of August / September and the salary will be £8.00 p/h.

They are looking for an individual who is experienced in business administration and it is desirable that they are experienced in telephone gateway assessing.

As the start date is later than originally planned, hopefully this will open up the opportunity to candidates who are not available in the summer months due to other commitments.
