Poppy Volunteers urgently needed – ASDA, Brierley Hill

Can you spare a couple of hours to help with the Royal British Legion poppy sale stand in Asda, Brierley Hill?

This November sees the 100th anniversary of the unveiling of the town’s war memorial.

The British Legion don’t have volunteers to cover a poppy collection at ASDA this year, which is really sad as the site provides raises several thousand pounds annually.

We are asking for local people to help us cover the stall every day between Saturday 30th October and Saturday 13th November.

The stall will be open from 10am to 4pm each day.

It just needs a person or persons there to safeguard the collecting tin and to let anyone who wants to buy poppy merchandise recommended donations should they ask.

Volunteers can take along work to do, or a book to read etc and full instructions will be given.

To staff the stall we are breaking the day into two shifts. 10am-1pm and 1pm to 4pm. The Legion will arrive to open and close the stall and will manage the collection and counting of the money.

Would you be able to help by covering one or more of the shifts?

If so please, email poppies@brierleyhill.net and you will be added to the roster.

This is a special year for Brierley Hill. It would be super if we could commemorate the memorials 100th anniversary by doing some solid poppy fundraising.
