OPP OF THE DAY: Activities Assistant – YMCA Black Country Group (Wren’s Nest Navigators Project)

After completing core training, volunteers will be introduced to the project session staff and will assist with session delivery; activities range from football coaching through to cooking and jobs clubs. You may be asked to assist with the setting up and taking down of equipment, preparation and clearing of an activity area.

You may also be asked to provide support and motivation to participants during the activity, and depending on your experience the session worker may ask you to lead part of the activity. All volunteers will be expected to positively engage with participants (young people and families) and provide encouragement and support throughout the duration of any sessions being delivered.

Where:
Wren’s Nest – Dudley (various public/community locations, e.g. Church, youth club, Sycamore Adventure)

When:
Various activity sessions are delivered throughout the week, lasting between 2-3 hours. Volunteers are asked to commit to at least one activity session per fortnight.

Commitment/Duration (min/max period):
A commitment to assist with at least one session per fortnight for a minimum of 3 months is requested due to training and scheduling requirements.
