Where you will be based: Within your local community

Why we want you

Barnardo’s protects, supports and nurtures the UK’s most vulnerable children.

Barnardo’s helps bring out the best in children – no matter who they are or what they have been through. Our volunteers help make this happen.

What you will be doing

• Although you will be committing as much or as little time as you can to the role, it would be desirable for you to spend a minimum of five hours per month researching and contacting organisations in your local community.

• Through your talks, you will engage and inspire support for Barnardo’s, and encourage involvement in our fundraising initiatives.

• You will have access to our Community Ambassador Toolkit, enabling you to deliver bespoke presentations to diverse communities and audiences of all ages.

• You will be keeping your Volunteer Manager up to date on your activities, including the contacts you’ve made and talks that you’ve arranged. In return, your Volunteer Manager will be there to provide support, guidance and advice.

• You may also be asked to attend cheque presentations and local events on behalf of Barnardo’s, officially thanking donors and hosts for their support

• Adhering to Barnardo’s policies and procedures at all times, including Barnardo’s: Safeguarding; Equality, Diversity and Inclusion; Health & Safety; Data Protection; Confidentiality; Recording policies and procedures.
