OPP OF THE DAY: OPP OF THE DAY: Collection Box Volunteer – Beacon Centre

Hours available:     You may offer any amount of time between 9am-5pm, weekdays. Some evening work may be required.

Purpose:       To collect/exchange money boxes from shops and businesses across the Black Country or Staffordshire.

The Role:      Own transport is essential. The role would suit someone who has good geographical knowledge of the local area and at least a day a week to spare.

Beacon are looking for Collection Box volunteers in and around the Black Country and Staffordshire to help us:

  • Visit local shops and businesses to collect/exchange full collection boxes, and deliver back to the our Centre.
  • Look for possible opportunities for new collection box sites.

Beacon’s collection boxes are used to raise vital funds that help support people with sight loss across the Black Country and Staffordshire.

This is a proactive role that will involve collecting and exchanging full collection boxes within a certain geographical area, the money will then need returning to our Centre to be counted and banked by admin staff.

Ideally you will be able to dedicate a minimum of one day per week and the role can easily be fitted around your existing commitments.

Support in your role will be provided by the Communications and Fundraising Administrator.

All mileage costs will be covered by Beacon at a rate for 45p per mile.

A DBS check will be required for this role.
