As part of our meaningful activities programme we run an angling club for our service users to take part in. To do this we need more than one responsible adult present.
We are looking for a volunteer who has an interest in angling and supporting young people who have been referred to Switch for substance misuse issues.
We would be looking at one session a week to take place over the summer months. All equipment is provided
Where:
Angling club sessions would take place out in the community. We usually take our clients to the Waterfront at Merry Hill, but would also be looking to take them to other fishing locations.
When:
The sessions would take place from 12pm until 4pm weekly either on a Tuesday or Thursday afternoon. There may be occasions where the volunteer would accompany staff during travel to and from the activity, which would increase the number of hours.
Duration:
End of May until August Bank holiday 2019.
Time and dates will also depend on demand for the activity and the young people’s availability
A UK angling rod licence would be preferable, however we would be happy to pay for this if someone shows dedication to the project.
