OPP OF THE DAY: Public Relations Volunteer, SODA

Are you a PR specialist looking to support a local voluntary group? If so, we need you!

As a voluntary group we need support in creating a positive image and to create a strong relationship with our audience.
Maybe you are a good communicator, a confident speaker and an excellent listener. Perhaps your skill is keeping track of fast passed markets to allow you to be knowledgeable about our clients and their needs.

Are you confident in writing engaging press releases or have a knowledge of coming up with new ways of promoting SODA WM.

How much time do I need to volunteer?
We understand that your life doesn’t revolve around SODA QM but we do ask that you put aside 3 and a half hours each month (or there about) to attend our committee meetings.
Please note, no meetings will be held during holiday time term time only.
So you can volunteer the hours that suit you.

But I’m working full time?
There will be many opportunities to volunteer at evenings/nights/weekends. So don’t feel you have to be involved all the time, everyday. It’s about when you can fit SODA WM.

Can I be paid to cover travel expenses?
Unfortunately not at this stage as we are a voluntary group however this would be something we could look into once we become a Registered Charity.

Do I need qualifications?
We all come from different backgrounds and all have unique skills to offer we don’t need to have qualifications to make a difference.

Can I leave if I don’t like it?
You are under no real obligation to stay and we hope you don’t leave but if there are any problems we hope you can talk to us but if this isn’t for you then you have the choice to leave.

What do I get in return?
No financial gain but promotion through website and social media. We can also give you a reference too.
