We need someone to set up our accounts, arrange our audit files, keep our receipts and bank any money that we make at fundraising events. Your main role is to keep an official track of our spending when it comes to filing accounts but with other roles including:
– Balancing accounts (also known as ‘double book keeping’)
– Processing sales invoices, receipts and payments
– Completing VAT returns
– Preparing invoices for the Inland Revenue
– Checking company bank statements
– Preparing cash flow statements
– Dealing with financial paperwork and filing
How much time do I need to volunteer?
We understand that your life doesn’t revolve around SODA QM but we do ask that you put aside 3 and a half hours each month (or there about) to attend our committee meetings.
Please note, no meetings will be held during holiday time term time only.
So you can volunteer the hours that suit you.
But I’m working full time?
There will be many opportunities to volunteer at evenings/nights/weekends. So don’t feel you have to be involved all the time, everyday. It’s about when you can fit SODA WM.
Can I be paid to cover travel expenses?
Unfortunately not at this stage as we are a voluntary group however this would be something we could look into once we become a Registered Charity.
Do I need qualifications?
We all come from different backgrounds and all have unique skills to offer we don’t need to have qualifications to make a difference.
Can I leave if I don’t like it?
You are under no real obligation to stay and we hope you don’t leave but if there are any problems we hope you can talk to us but if this isn’t for you then you have the choice to leave.
What do I get in return?
No financial gain but promotion through website and social media. We can also give you a reference too.
