Are you interested in all things websites, social media and comms?
About the role:
As the Website and Communications Assistant Volunteer you will be playing a key role in helping Dudley Mind develop and grow its online and social media presence.
The main focus of the role initially will be to develop a new website for Dudley Mind using a new WordPress template, making sure it’s fit for purpose, updated regularly and gives visitors a positive user experience.
You will also have the opportunity to get involved in other marketing and communication activities to help promote Dudley Mind and engage with our stakeholders.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain some great hands on marketing communications experience which will really enhance your CV.
A bit about us:
Dudley Mind is a mental health charity providing a range of therapeutic and support services to local people in Dudley affected by mental health problems. We are affiliated to Mind, one of the UK’s leading mental health charities. Take a look at www.dudleymind.org.uk for more information.
Skills, experience and qualities needed:
We’re looking for someone who has both a keen interest and some skills and experience in digital marketing, especially with websites and social media.
You’ll be organised, happy to work on your own initiative and generally ‘get stuck in’.
Good communication and interpersonal skills are also important as you’ll be working in an office with other colleagues and dealing with telephone calls from service users, the general public and other organisations.
Plus, we’re looking for someone who can start as soon as possible. How does 9am tomorrow sound?
When and where:
The role will be based at our head office at the Mary Stevens Centre, just outside Stourbridge town centre (accessible by public transport).
Time/days needed – we’re looking for someone who can commit to doing around 10 hours per week for at least three months. We are flexible on the days you work (subject to desk space) although it would be good
You’ll be supported by Mark, our friendly Marketing Officer, working with other staff and volunteers at our Head Office. Mark will oversee your work and give you regular direction and support as needed.
What do you get out of it?
Hopefully lots! First and foremost, this is a fantastic opportunity to develop and showcase your digital marketing skills, gaining real ‘on the job’ experience which will not only enhance your CV but also boost your confidence.
You’ll be part of a small, friendly team of staff and volunteers making a real difference to local people affected by mental health problems.
All volunteers need to be aged over 18 years old and will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
