OPP OF THE DAY: Volunteer Receptionist, Citizens Advice Bureau Dudley and District

Purpose of the roleCAB Dudley2
– To provide an effective and efficient front of house service
– To support the day to day running of a service

Minimum commitment: 1 day per week subject to service requirements

Main duties and responsibilities will include:
– Welcoming clients into the waiting room
– Explaining procedures and waiting times to clients
– Providing information about Citizens Advice Dudley Borough and other advice services to clients from a diverse of backgrounds and cultures
– Providing a service that is based on sensitivity and respect for the clients
– Acknowledging any special requirements and taking appropriate action
– Working collaboratively with other colleagues involved in the advice process
– Maintaining confidentiality about clients and their contact with Citizens Advice Dudley Borough
– Processing clients’ information collected at the reception desk
– Maintaining a professional environment for clients to access
– Assisting with Research & Campaigns work
– Maintaining and collating statistics
– Being aware of Health and Safety, Data Protection and Confidentiality

Skills:
– A commitment to the aims and principles of Citizens Advice Dudley Borough
– A positive attitude to self-development and assessment
– Ability to work alone or as part of a team
– Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing
– Ability to manage own time and workload effectively
– Respect for views, values and cultures that are different to their own
– Competence in using IT
– Being open and approachable
