OPP OF THE DAY: Volunteer Research and Campaign Worker, Citizens Advice Bureau Dudley and District

Purpose of the roleCAB Dudley2
– To promote and be involved in all Research & Campaigns activities in the service
– To help influence government and other organisations by informing them of the effect of their actions on the lives of clients
– To help develop and implement Citizens Advice Dudley Borough’s Research & Campaigns strategy

Minimum commitment: 1 day per week

Main duties and responsibilities will include:
– Providing support to the Research & Campaigns Co-ordinator
– Keeping up to date with Research & Campaigns issues
– Providing support to advisers and assessors who raise Research & Campaigns issues
– Contributing to learning about Research & Campaigns
– Monitoring, Identifying and recording trends within Research & Campaigns
– Network with other people involved in Research & Campaigns Work locally and nationally as required
– Presenting data to internal and external groups as required
– Completing, researching and developing campaigns
– Attend monthly Research & Campaigns meetings

Skills:
– A commitment to the aims and principles of Citizens Advice Dudley Borough
– A positive attitude to self-development and assessment
– Ability to work alone or as part of a team
– Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing
-Ability to manage own time and workload effectively
– Respect for views, values and cultures that are different to their own
– Competence in using IT
– Excellent analytical skills
– Ability to sift through information and extract what is relevant
– Have a Certificate of Competence in Gateway Assessing
