OPP OF THE DAY: Volunteer Training and Recruitment support volunteer, Citizens Advice Bureau Dudley and District

Purpose of the roleCAB Dudley2
– To assist with the recruitment and training process of volunteers for the service, matching skills, availability and aptitude to the roles available
– To help develop and implement Citizens Advice Dudley Borough’s recruitment and training strategy

Minimum commitment: 1 day per week

Main duties and responsibilities will include:
– Responsibility for certain aspects volunteer recruitment
– Talking to potential volunteers following an expression of interest
– Assisting with the development and running of a recruitment campaign
– Responding to volunteer enquiries by telephone, letter or email
– Producing publicity for recruitment of volunteers
– Sending out publicity and liaising with relevant organisations
– Advertising and taking bookings for training sessions
– Assisting with training needs assessments
– Producing certificates of attendance
– Maintaining a training database
– Preparing materials for training sessions and inductions
– Sending off for references of new volunteers
– Maintaining electronic files surrounding recruitment

– A commitment to the aims and principles of Citizens Advice Dudley Borough
– A positive attitude to self-development and assessment
– Ability to work alone or as part of a team
– Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing
– Ability to manage own time and workload effectively
– Respect for views, values and cultures that are different to their own
– Competence in using IT (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
– Self motivated and able to work on own initiative
