OPP OF THE DAY: Learning Volunteer, Dudley Canal Trust (Trips) Ltd

What’s involved?Canal
Interpret the Dudley Canal Trust histories for children and help share the hidden treasures and stories of our limestone mines and caverns.

You could be supporting one of our school workshop sessions supporting our Learning and Engagement staff as they teach children about Rocks and Fossils or Black Country Canals and Industry; helping with our family events at weekends or during school holidays; leading one of our mother and toddler story time boat trip sessions; or helping out visitors both young and old discover more about the Canal Trust and its history in a fun and informative way.

Who would suit this role?
The role of Learning Volunteer will suit someone who:
– enjoys working with children of all ages
– is enthusiastic and passionate
– has lots of patience
– is flexible and happy to volunteer on different days from week to week
Previous experience of working with children would be an advantage but is not required in order to volunteer

Extra Information:
Time commitment: Flexible but on average once a week, as and when school groups are booked in, predominantly term time but may include some holidays onsite and offsite at schools/education facilities.
Location: onsite and offsite at schools/education facilities
Working with children: You may be required to complete a DBS check for this role
