Talent Match is a Black Country wide Lottery funded project that is in the process of securing additional funding through the European Social Fund (ESF). The project is led by young people, with significant input from businesses. The project focuses on18-24 year olds facing barriers to progression and who have ‘NEET’ been for at least 6 months and 25-29 year olds with specific barriers, supporting them to move nearer and into employment. To meet demand they are recruiting additional Senior Mentors and Mentors to ensure there is sufficient coverage and support for young people across the Black Country.
Key delivery partners include; BCTG, Dudley College, Gazebo Theatre, and YMCA Black Country Group (Walsall and Wolverhampton).
Senior Mentor £25k pa – 3 Posts
1 x Central (Gazebo Theatre), 1 x Sandwell (BCTG) and 1 x Wolverhampton (YMCA)
Senior Mentors will supervise and provide support to a team of mentors, ensuring Mentors adopt and deliver a young person centred and solution focused approach to mentoring resulting in project priorities and outcomes being achieved.
Mentors £21k minimum pa – 5 posts across the Black Country based with partner organisations
Mentors will provide intensive person centred support, guiding young people through support mechanisms and into employment or self-employment. Their focus is on the following thematic groups: young offenders; young carers/parents; travelling families; disabled young people; young people engaged in substance misuse; those who are homeless. Mentors will work on a ratio of 10:1 and will be expected to adopt a solutions focused approach alongside the young people they will be working with.
All posts are subject to funding. Employees need to work to the ethos and values of the host organisation recruited to. These posts offer an important opportunity to be part of a project that aims to ensure that all young people are supported to fulfil their full potential, placing them and businesses at the centre of the solution.
