OPP OF THE DAY: Chit Chat Club, Dudley Canal Trust

What’s involved?canal
Dudley Canal and Tunnel Trust will be setting up an informal chit chat club in their café this April, as part of their campaign to fight loneliness in the local area. The club, led by volunteers, will run every Tuesday morning between 10 and 12 noon in the trust’s new café, The Gongoozler at their new multi-million pound heritage centre, The Portal. It will be a chance for people in the local community to get out and meet new people. Our volunteers will be facilitating conversation between all the people who come to the club. Some weeks there may be just one or two people and the volunteer’s role will be instrumental in getting conversations going; other weeks there may be quite a few people and conversation may flow more naturally.

What’s in it for you?
– Becoming part of a friendly team
– Meeting new people
– Develop skills and learn new ones
– Enjoy new experiences

Location: Onsite
Working with vulnerable people: You will be required to complete a DBS check for this role.
