The Mayor’s Civic Awards is celebrating its thirteenth year. The prestigious awards have proved a huge success over the past decade and Dudley Council is again looking to celebrate people who work tirelessly in the community.
Many people achieve great things or dedicate their time to helping others and much of this work goes unnoticed. However, through the annual Mayor’s Ball and Civic Awards we can celebrate their achievements.
The categories in full are:
The Duncan Edwards award for sport
The Frank Foley award for community spirit
The Cedric Hardwicke award for art
The William Shenstone award for environment
The Mike Holder award for business
The Thomas Attwood award for education
Is there a person or group who you feel deserves one of these titles? This could be someone who has made an outstanding contribution to the community or who has set an inspiring example to others through their effort and determination. It can be a colleague, family member or friend, someone you have nominated in a previous year or someone new.
Should you know someone who fits this description, I hope you will put them forward for one of the civic awards.
You can nominate online at www.dudley.gov.uk/civicawards and the closing date is Monday 15 February.
