OPP OF THE DAY: Mascot Volunteer, More Mascots Please CIC

What you will be doing:MORE MASCOTS
We are looking for friendly and enthusiastic volunteers that wish to engage, entertain and support children and young people. You will be dressing up as one of our adorable mascot characters, waving to children, shaking hands (or paws!) and interacting with children and young people and their families in the Black Country area.

To enable More Mascots Please CIC to reach its strategic aims and deliver services that benefits disabled, disadvantaged and terminally ill children and the wider community.

When and where:
At More Mascots Please CIC, events and times are varied but usually, we need volunteers on a weekend.

What you could get out of it:
Working as part of a team.
Entertaining children.
Having fun.
Personal satisfaction.
Life experiences.
Taking on the role of a Mascot character.
A challenge.
Skills development.
Increase your experience of working with children.

Other information:
Volunteers may be asked to undergo a DBS check. If you are under 16, parental consent will be needed prior to any volunteering.

No persons with criminal convictions accepted for role.

No disabled access or suitability for persons with disability.

Enthusiasm to work with children, young people and their families.
Good communication skills.
Good teamwork skills.
Be outgoing and creative when in the mascot costume.
Be comfortable with engaging with others in a variety of settings.
Be aware that we attend events across the Black Country areas.
Be sensitive to the needs of disabled and terminally ill children and young people.
Be willing to be DBS checked.
A small amount of experience in working with children and young people.
