This is an important support role for our staff. The nature reserve is open 24/7, as there is a public footpath running through the site, we can’t be everywhere at once so we are looking for casual wardens to walk the site weekly, for two reasons.
Firstly to be a friendly face for our visitors and offer a site presence that we desperately need. You might be approached by people wanting to know about the wildlife on site, or just to find out the opening times.
Your second job as wandering warden is to check that the site looks tip top. To make sure visitors have the best experience we need to be on the ball with paths that need repairing, signs that need cleaning or even benches that might have been damaged. By keeping a note of these jobs, the practical team can respond as quickly as possible to rectify the problem.
You will have excellent communication skills and enjoy being outdoors.
One day per week.
